Water Check the soil moisture before watering your ficus. You will find that the time between watering will
vary with the season. To check, place your finger in the soil to a depth of 3-4 inches. If it feels wet, do not water. When watering, apply enough water until it runs out the drain holes at the bottom of the pot. Remove all the extra water from the saucer.

Fertilizer For optimum plant health, fertilize with an all-purpose houseplant food April through October, following label directions. For all other months, fertilize half as often.

Plant Info Ficus weeping fig is somewhat low-maintenance, but it can be finicky if its conditions change too much. It thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers consistent watering—too much or too little can cause it to drop leaves. It also dislikes drafts and sudden moves, which can lead to stress. So while it’s not the easiest plant, once you find the right spot and routine, it can be relatively easy to maintain.

Origin Moist tropical regions of India, Malaysia, and West Africa.
