Our cashiers at Shelmerdine are the first people customers see when they walk in the door, and the last people they see before they leave. This makes them some of the most important people on our team! We are looking for friendly, energetic individuals to join our seasonal cashier team in a fast-paced, retail environment.
The cashier position offers both part time and full-time flexibility and is a seasonal position with the possibility of returning for the following busy season.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- accurately scan all merchandise, and receive payment by cash, credit cards, gift cards, or tap.
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or exchanges
- Carefully bag, box and wrap purchases
- Greet customers with a smile as they arrive in the store, and guide them to the area of the store that they are looking for
- Help customers with any questions or inquiries they have regarding their current or past purchases, and refer them to the appropriate manager if necessary
- Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas

- Experience in a retail environment is an asset, but not required. We will teach you everything you need to know, and more!
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Punctual, and flexible with scheduling to the needs of the business, including weekends and evenings.
